After the Crisis, Where is This Country Headed? PDF Print E-mail

20091231I don't know about you, but with all the political and economic crises that America has faced in the last 10 years, it is often very hard to get an idea of where we are headed from here. With the dot.com bubble, 9/11, the anthropogenic global warming scare, the housing bubble, out of control government growth, the election of an overt fascist/socialist president and congress, an out of control central banker, out of control government debt, the conscious collusion of government and media to creating propaganda intended to dupe the public, the list goes on and on. We are truly in uncharted territory.

Not that the web doesn't offer an unprecedented plethora of analyses and predictions which cater to any possible wish: from status quo to paranoid conspiracy theories. What we need are truly rational conclusions with sufficient supporting materials and un-disputed facts: Enough that we can evaluate for ourselves the veracity and dependability of the entire work. Even on the web, these types of analyses are rare.

I think I have found at least one such product. It was produced over a four year period (ending in 2008/9). Beware, it is rather long: about three and a half hours in total. But I think well worth the watch. One of the things that is explained very succinctly is the history of the Government's manipulation of statistics (one of my areas of interest) for unemployment, inflation and GDP. His explanations of Fed operations are also very simple and clear.

Called "The Crash Course" it is free and well worth the time. It was produced by Chris Martenson, who holds both a Ph.D in Neurotoxicology and an MBA in Finance. If you want to know more about him before you spend your time, see the About section in the link, above. If you want to watch a shorter (45 minutes) quick summary before you invest more of you time, go here.

If you watch it, please let me know what you think!
